One of the biggest challenges that climate change scientists, policymakers, and activists have struggled with over the past several decades is COMMUNICATION. How can we effectively convey the urgency of this crisis to as many people as possible and compel them to act? One strategy that has promise is that of telling our CLIMATE STORIES.

What is a Climate Story?

According to Climate Generation, a climate story is a personal account of climate change from YOUR experience and observations, ranging from despair to hope, from loss to resolve. It is descriptive and makes an emotional connection to climate change.

Call for Climate Stories

As a local grassroots group, HNZ’s most valuable asset is its members and our connections to the Hingham community. It is our hope that by telling our own individual climate stories, our passion and commitment to action will resonate with our friends and neighbors across town compelling them to feel more invested in the climate crisis and the need to engage.

For that reason we are asking for YOU to tell YOUR climate story!

Stories should be no more than 1000 words and include your name and a picture to share.  Climate Stories will be shared on this page and our HNZ Facebook page. Please submit your climate story to our Climate Story Coordinator, Lynn Anderson at HinghamNetZero@gmail.com.
